NEW ALBANY SCHOOLS |
For several years the New Albany-Plain Local School District has been rated Excellent by the Ohio Department of Education for several years and they achieved 104.6 out of 120 performance index points for the 2005-06 school year.
New Albany has around 3500 students and consists of 1 K-1, 1 2-5, 1 middle and 1 high school. Nationally recognized New Albany High School is a four-year comprehensive high school accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. The campus includes a library, a physical fitness center, gymnasium and natatorium, a community/school nature preserve, information technology center along with art and music studios. Last year, New Albany High School's graduated 100% of its students with 95% going onto college. |

PARKS & RECREATION |
The New Albany parks district was formed in 1999 by the New Albany-Plain Local School District, the Village of New Albany and Plain Township to develop and manage park land within the school district´s boundaries. They manage and coordinate many youth athletic activities including: sport camps, baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer and softball as well as adult soccer and softball. They also manage several parks in the area with a variety of ammenities including, jogging trails, athletic fields, tennis complex, playgrounds and more. Miles of leisure trails throughout New Albany connecting many neighborhoods with the Historic Town Center, learning campus and retail areas are also a part of this comprehensive park system.
The New Albany Country Club is home to a golf course designed by golf pro Jack Nicklaus.
